Description
When I noticed this interesting lenticular cloud beginning to form over the top of Mount Shasta, I got in my car and headed to a place I had previously staked out as a good vantage point for shooting the mountain. When I first arrived, in late afternoon, the temperature was pleasant, even warm for February. So, I found a good spot, set up my tripod, and waited for the sun to move lower in the sky. The later it got, the colder and windier it got. As I stood there, shivering, with my fingers numb, I was just about ready to call it a day, go home and see what kind of images I had managed to capture. Then, just moments before the light faded, the wind at the top of the mountain shifted and the upper peak showed itself above the cloud. Moments like this are the reason I do what I do.
