Description
"The Glaciers are Melting" by Loree Johnson Photography. Glacial runoff in the red rocks of Glacier National Park, Montana. The color of glacial water is caused by tiny particles known as glacial flour resulting from the grinding of rocks under glaciers. The suspended flour creates the aquamarine color by changing the normal reflective and refractive qualities of the water.
