Description
"Going to the Sun Over Haystack Creek" by Loree Johnson Photography. The Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park was considered an engineering marvel of its day. Construction on the road commenced in 1921 and finished in 1932. The road is approximately 50 miles (80 km) long and was one of the first national park projects specifically designed to accommodate automobile-borne tourists. Haystack Creek forms an impressive waterfall near this section of the road.
